"Shibboleth" is a fourth season episode of the television series Law & Order: Criminal Intent.. The episode is most well known for a character based on serial killer Dennis Rader, also known as the "BTK killer".
Detectives Goren and Eames investigate the case of a young woman murdered during an emergency phone call to the operator. They soon realise the killer is clearly demonstrating the same modus operandi used by the notorious serial killer B.B.J. (Bodies By Jake), whose spree began 16 years ago and then abruptly halted. Their investigation leads them to a recently released parolee who seems too good to be true. When they learn that there are similar murders going much further back, the detectives think their prime suspect could be not guilty, but nevertheless holds the key to catching the real culprit.
